At the same time, the major causes like industries, hospitals and nuclear plants have been directed to develop waste storage systems where the proper decomposition and utilization of wastes can be entertained.However, without individual and community participation, this cannot be made possible.
Following are the ways to prevent the water pollution:
- Products which we use in our regular routine contain chemicals. These chemicals are toxic to micro and macro sea organisms. When these products enter the water, they create ecological imbalance. Thus, keeping these wastes away from toilet, sink, lakes and river is a good way of preventing water pollution.
- Proper and periodic cleaning of water should be done. People must be encouraged not to create water pollution. This can be done by several means like campaigning, advertisement and different awareness programs.
- A habit of recycling should be adapted and cultivated.
- Eco-friendly household products should be used in daily life. Few examples are washing powder, toiletries, and organic fertilizers.
- Natural pesticides should be preferred. Excess use of fertilizers has more disadvantages than the advantages.
- Oils used in automobiles can be recycled. Also, any leakage from vehicles and machines should be avoided.
- One should not misuse the water while doing any work. Since groundwater takes so long to recycle, saving the water helps in avoiding its dearth.
