| Types Of Soil Pollution
There are many different types of soil pollutions, and the effects are different and also varied. The reasons and sources are also varied. Each variety causes different damage to the soil. However, the end result is the same. That is, the land becoming unfit for cultivation along with leaving trail of affects on plants and fauna’s existence which are long lasting.

In the time of construction of several projects, underground tanks are built, but they are not taken care of properly. In the course of time, they accumulate fuels and harmful fluids which ultimately cause soil pollution.
The excess water seeping out of agricultural lands contains all dangerous chemicals, which are harmful to both human beings and surrounding flora and fauna.
The industrial wastes like ash and lime are used for the soil to improve the soil nutrients. In the name of soil enrichment many industrialists make the farmer a scope goat to unburden their toxic wastes. The unknowledgeable farmer believes them and adds them to the soil. But in the long run they spoil it and render it polluted. An article in 2001, in the journal called 'Environmental Management', mentioned that landfills contain many a pollutant. Those are sulfates, nitrates, heavy metals and other chemical substances which ultimately cause harm to the soil.
Likewise another article published in 2009 in the journal called 'Research Journal of Environment/ Management' wrote about the affects of oil spills on soil deposits. It mentioned that land fertility is reduced markedly after an oil spill.
