However, global warming is an issue that cannot be brought under control in one single day. It has to be a consistent process of effortsThe air pollution monitoring stations constantly monitor the level of gases like nitrogen dioxide, ozone, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and lead in the air. These gases are considered as greenhouse gases causing extensive damage to the environment.
There are specific standards in air pollution levels that all cities have to maintain. The standards are set even higher in areas that are highly prone to pollution. This can be done by reducing vehicular traffic and also by controlling usage of resources. In United States, vehicular traffic and automobiles like cars are the single biggest factors contributing to air pollution and global warming.
Pollution caused due to emission from cars can cause severe air pollution, and lead to the smog levels increasing. So, by using fuel efficient cars, people can cut down on air pollution. Also, these days several tax rebates are being given while purchasing a fuel efficient vehicle. People can take corrective measures to control air pollution.
As per the pollution statistics cities like New York and Los Angeles stand on the top for the air pollution levels. In spite of having public transport, the vehicular traffic is still very high in these cities.
