| Air Pollution Causes
Air pollution is the biggest problem that mankind is facing today, and is contributing in a big way for global warming. Air pollution has been present ever since man learnt to light a fire. There are several gases that are emitted that contribute to air pollution. Among them the biggest contributor is carbon monoxide. There are several causes of air pollution.Excessive industrial pollution is one of the major causes. |

Industries include even power plants. Any factory or industry burning coal contributes in a large way to air pollution. Coal is a fossil fuel and it is formed in the crust of the earth over a period of millions of years. When it is burnt it emits carbon monoxide and this cerates an imbalance of air composition in the atmosphere. However, people cannot live without power. Even though there are alternatives like hydro generated power and nuclear power, we still depend on power generated by coal by large.
Pollution is also caused by vehicles. Vehicles burn oil in the form of petrol and diesel. Most of the vehicles are still not fuel efficient. And it amounts to severe air pollution. Oil burns and emits sulfur oxides and carbon monoxide.
Pollution is also caused at home by domestic users. Several people waste power and this leads to more consumption. That again leads to need of producing more power. People who are not responsible with the power usage create redundancy and also cause excessive production of power. This causes a vicious cycle. Other causes of pollution are habits like smoking, and using non-degradable plastic, aerosols.
