Health Effects Of Toxic Waste

Toxic wastes or hazardous wastes or dangerous wastes are those that pose great threat to all living organisms including plants. These are not recyclable and hence, they tend to get discarded in landfills. Many new health problems are arising from these toxins every year.Amongst 80,000 chemicals that exist in the world, most of them are being used in industries.

There is not sufficient information regarding the total effects of all chemicals. Waste chemicals mix up and any thing can happen due to their combination. In addition to this, every year 1,500 chemicals are invented and hence, these further increase the already existing confusion.

One good example of health effects of toxic waste are the students of a school in New Jersey. These students suffered many health problems due to the exposure to chromium, and as a result the school had to be closed in 1989. It was found that large quantities of chromium were dumped nearby.

As there is no certain knowledge about the affects of toxic chemicals, it is increasingly difficult to restrict the use of these chemicals.

The government can take action when some thing happens or if there is fatality. Then only it can take steps to reduce the usage of that particular toxic pollutant or make some serious policies to check the dumping of that particular toxic waste.

Primarily, toxic waste poses a great threat to health as it has the ability to cause mutations within a living organ and thus, lead to diseases like cancer. Hence, toxic waste is extremely carcinogenic in nature.

How-Do-Plants-Survive-Toxic-Waste      Darwin’s theory says that only those living beings who are strong and can defend themselves can survive. Hence, some plants can survive in toxic environments also. They even scavenge the pollutants and make the surroundings clean. They scavenge all the pollutants made by man. Those are both inorganic like petrochemicals, and organic like heavy metals. More..
