Acid rain is caused due to pollution, and the reason is as simple as that. However, the solution for it is not. Rain, when it falls on earth, it collects all the dust particles in the air during this downward journey. That is why the air seems so fresh after it has rained. Usually the dust particles that occur naturally are the pollen, and the chemicals that are produced by a lightening or volcanic activity. Raindrops collect these things from the air and then fall to the ground.
