Sea Level Rise Statistics

Over the last one hundred years, sea level rise is taking place at the rate of 1.8 mm each year. However, between the years 1993 and 2003, sea level rise was higher, around 2.8 mm to 3.1 mm each year. Global warming is playing a big role in sea level rise, and scientists claim in the coming century, this rise is bound to increase.Due to warming of the planet, the water is undergoing thermal expansion.

The hurricane Katrina, which took place in the year 2005, is believed to be one of the priciest hurricanes. Also, it is considered to be one of the five most lethal calamities in the history of the United States. It is also believed that amongst all the recorded hurricanes, it was the sixth most impregnable calamities of the world and the third strongest to cause a landfall in the United States.
